Overview

SOSi is currently seeking an experienced Solutions Architect - Cloud and Virtualization to join our team in Reston, VA.  The Solutions Architect - Cloud and Virtualization is considered an industry recognized expert responsible for identifying, developing, maturing, and delivering industry leading Cloud and Virtualization capabilities, for delivery in the markets in collaboration with the market facing business units and SOSi’s Business Development organization.  This person will work collaboratively across the organization to develop new service offerings and cultivate new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Industry Engagement Strategy – recognized SME within Cloud and Virtualization responsible for maturing and growing capability offerings to include services, skilled staff, intellectual capital, and products where applicable; develop and implement Industry Conference strategy
  • Talent Pipeline Manager- Hire, train, retain and grow a robust pipeline of junior, mid, senior and expert skilled staff within Cloud and Virtualization to deliver across the markets to grow the business
  • Brand Implementer - Ensure the corporate our external brand represents our business, differentiation and capabilities
  • Lead their Respective Capability IMT – collaborate with market and account leads to deliver capabilities, products and intellectual capital to existing, new and emerging markets
  • Intellectual Capital Development - White papers, RFI responses, Briefings, Marketing materials and highly effective proposal solutions
  • Nextgen capability visionary – incorporate leading technologies to envision next generation, over-the-horizon capabilities
  • Business Development & Growth – work with BD and market teams to complete Capability Market analyses and strategy development and capability-specific pipeline prioritization across all markets
  • IR&D Capability Investment Strategy – work with CTO to develop and execute investment prioritization and execution to address current and/or future capability gaps
  • Supporting Corporate Growth and Branding strategies by developing a capability roadmap to deliver near, next and after next capability offerings across all markets
  • Corporate Relationship Builder – expand corporate industry/client relationship network for greater capability exposure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (computer science, information systems or related field preferred) and at least ten years’ related work experience.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • 6+ years’ experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills
  • Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware and storage
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA and FedRAMP.
  • Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, databases, web development, systems networking and programming, media, information security and end-user computing environments.
  • Strategic thinking and proactive acting, to stay a step ahead of the company’s technical needs
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to recruit and motivate highly talented team members.
  • An ability to gain the confidence of business leaders and to and demonstrate the business value of technology
  • Proven professional and managerial skills along with the leadership traits and personal characteristics which are necessary for success in senior management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
