SOSi is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Mission Solutions Group at our headquarters in Reston, VA. The candidate will provide a full range of business operations in support of strategic planning and program control to the Mission Solutions Group. The candidate will support assigned business operations and program control functions, to include planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting for multiple contracts of varying type, which are small to moderate in size as well as moderate in complexity. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, working both independently and as an important member of the Program Management team. This candidate will report to the Director of Finance for the Mission Solutions Group and will work collaboratively with the Program Management and Corporate Operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Expectations are to support (~1/3 of time in each) 1. directorate level reporting on cash and billing, 2. major program billing, revenue recognition, cash collection and project structure maintenance and 3. program finance lead on smaller programs with Director support / oversight.
  • Generates and prepares spreadsheets depicting project performance and provides charts and graphs to illustrate existing and future performance.
  • Develops and maintains expenditure plans to include level of effort projections as well as depletion dates for current funding.
  • Develops and analyzes Estimates To Complete (ETC), maintains program budgets, monitors actual costs and commitments.
  • Develops cost estimates for future project performance periods and reports variances against previous projections and pricing standards.
  • With assistance of the Director, develops compliant cost models (EACs).
  • Prepares project reports to aid program management managers in controlling projects.
  • Researches and communicates to management in a timely manner inquires on unusual or questionable cost.
  • Supports monthly internal / external financial and program reviews.
  • Supports directorate Finance Manager as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business related discipline.
     
  • Two (2) to Five (5) or more years of related experience in performing related financial analysis work in a Government contracting environment.
     
  • Must be an Advanced Microsoft Excel “Power User”, including experience working with VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, conditional formatting, if-then statement utilization
     
  • Familiarity with financial accounting close process as it related to U.S. GAAP.
     
  • Familiarity with Government cost accounting standards (CAS), as they relate to timekeeping, allowable cost, allocation of cost, differing contract types
     
  • Experience in project set up, contract value/funding and PoP reconciliation
     
  • Excellent business acumen and strong analytical and problem solving skills.
     
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
     
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
     
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
     
  • Experience with CostPoint 7 and COGNOS reporting
     
  • Experience supporting OCONUS programs / vastly different time zones, often in austere locations
     
  • Ability to travel to austere / war zone locations in support of the mission
