SOS International, LLC  is seeking an experienced Information Assurance Analyst for our team in Stuttgart, Germany. The candidate will support effective management and implementation of AFRICOM's cyber capacity building program, in alignment with the AFRICOM Campaign Plan and broader BCP initiatives. As the IA Analyst, will be responsible for planning, implementation and maintenance of security measures to protect information technology networks and systems. Works with customers, partners, stakeholders, and team members to develop and implement DoD security procedures.


  • Provide support for Information Assurance to maintain operational security posture and ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed
  • Contribute to and ensure effective project management and implementation of cyber capacity building efforts for African partners
  • Implement the Risk Management Framework (RMF) across multiple programs in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
  • Assess the Cyber Security risk of IT systems documenting them in formal risk assessments and supporting artifacts associated with the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process
  • Develop artifacts and supporting evidence to satisfy all applicable RMF Controls and corresponding Control Correlation Identifiers (CCI’s)
  • Assess key cyber security needs of various African Partner Nations and take principal responsibility for final formulation of cyber capacity building initiatives and strategies
  • Manage system accreditation packages and ATO’s using the DISA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Develop and/or update the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to document all known vulnerabilities with corrective actions or mitigation of risks
  • Revise/modify topology diagrams and perform Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM)
  • Perform cyber security controls verification assessments IAW DoDI 8510.01 and DoDI 8500.01 on an annual basis
  • Analyze IAVAs and Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins for enclave impact and take or recommend appropriate action
  • Analyze site/enclave CND policies and configurations and evaluate compliance with regulations and enclave directives
  • Participate in developing and implementing network-related procedures and standards
  • Formulate and implement the cyber capacity building strategies for African partners based on key cybersecurity needs assessments of African Partner Nations
  • Examine potential security violations to determine if Department of Defense policy has been breached, assess the impact, and preserve evidence
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with customers, stakeholders, partners and technical specialists


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering)
  • Eight (8) years of directly related Information Assurance experience
  • An active in-scope SECRET security clearance
  • Must receive TESA approval from the German government
  • DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant (e.g. CompTIA Security+ certification)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual & biliterate in French
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network security
  • Knowledge of scanning, endpoint security, and firewall technologies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
  • Functional knowledge of DoDI 8510 01, CNSSI 1253, NIST 800-53 rev4
  • Experience implementing and maintaining security controls
  • Understanding of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 53 security controls and control families
  • Strong familiarity with Coalition and Multi-National information sharing systems, policies and environments
  • Technically competent, solid decision making and critical thinking, strong customer focus, selfmotivated, desire to learn, effective and professional interpersonal skills, pride in work, strong team player
  • Familiarity (administrative and configuration level experience) with HBSS systems, McAfee ePO server and policy Administrator tasks and skills
