SOSi is seeking a Materials Manager for our current contract located on Camp Taji, Iraq.


  • Responsible for managing the physical custody and accuracy of finished goods and/or product inventory records at an operations location or project.
  • Manages and directs a team of Materials or Warehouse professionals and staff responsible for the Materials operations for a small job, project, manufacturing/technology center, or defined business area.
  • Works with Functional Procurement Manager, suppliers, and customers to implement and monitor a Warehouse that is cost-effective, expedient, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Directs warehousing activities for commercial or industrial establishment.
  • Establishes operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with such activities as production, records control, and purchasing.
  • Screens and hires warehouse personnel and issues work assignments.
  • Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products.
  • Verifies or prepare records, such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders.
  • Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction with services provided.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Undergraduate degree Business Administration, Materials Management, Industrial Distribution, Construction Management or similar disciplines and 8 years of experience.
  • Strong, professional, oral and written English communication skills Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to make significant presentations to Senior Staff and/or Officials
  • Advanced working knowledge with Maximo
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Platforms (Excel, Visio, Power Point and Word)
  • Relevant overseas government contracting experience preferably with the Department of Defense
  • Home Country Driver’s License and Forklift License (2k up to 10k, smooth surface, rough terrain and telehandlers)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required

Working Conditions

  • Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
  • Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary 
  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
