SOS International LLC (SOSi) - Technology, Collection and Exploitation (TCE) Division is seeking a Software Architect  to create and maintain large data collections to be served up in multiple analysis applications. A successful candidate will have an in scope Secret clearance and have a solid foundation in CS and data principles (data structures, databases, scripting, virtual environments), as well as systems architecture experience.  The candidate should have an overwhelming desire to learn and adapt to changing situations and work well within a small, fast-paced team.


  • Help to manage and maintain existing database clusters and architecture
  • Help in the design and deployment of database and system architecture improvements
  • Help in the design and deployment of system APIs
  • Assess and improve the security of databases and APIs
  • Work well in a small team in a fast-paced development cycle
  • Identify areas where the efforts of the software team can increase efficiency for the organization as a whole
  • Continuous learning and engaging in new technologies
  • Manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere
  • Communicate effectively internally and with clients


  • 3+ years related experience
  • An active in scope Secret Clearance 
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
  • Ability to acquire a Secret Clearance
  • Experience with:
    • Version control (Git, GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, etc...)
    • Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc..)
    • Databases: MongoDB, Solr, PostgreSQL, ArangoDB
    • Designing, managing, and maintaining database clusters
    • Maintaining data integrity, consistency, and resiliency across multiple databases
    • Virtual environments (VMWare, Xen, Docker, etc..)
    • Technical support and troubleshooting (developers and OEMs)
    • At least one programming language (Python, Go, Javascript, Java, C#, etc..)
    • Linux management/maintenance (Ubuntu preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in:
    • Upgrade planning across virtual environments
    • Agile/Scrum
    • Programming in Python and/or Go
    • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools
    • Building and interacting with RESTful API's
    • ELK (Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana)
    • Migrating legacy systems
  • Fluency in a foreign language
