SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Construction Planner/Scheduler to support a large Base Operations Support (BOS) program providing operations & maintenance (O&M) support services to our U.S. government customer in Iraq. The ideal candidate will have experience working on other large O&M/Constructions programs in contingency environments.


  • Plans and prepares production schedules for minor construction, remodeling, and renovation projects.
  • Draws up master/discipline schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet client forecasted master schedule.
  • Updates client through client accepted/sponsored software, i.e. MS Project.
  • Analyzes production specifications and construction data and performs mathematical calculations to determine material, tools, and human resource requirements for the schedule.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each craft and operation according to sequences and lead times.
  • Plans sequence of construction, contracting and procurement tasks for guidance of construction workers.
  • Planner/Scheduler confers with Supervisors/Management to determine status of projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepares production reports.
  • May prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
  • May prepare company purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited U.S. college or university in a related field; experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in project planning or integrated scheduling on construction/renovation projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule complex projects; understanding engineering calculations and designs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoS Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).
  • Excellent demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the U.S. Government Contracting industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with running large O&M programs in a contingency environment
  • Experience with MS Projects is desired.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desired, but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable or hazardous at times.
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
  • Requires periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
