SOSi is currently seeking an experienced Intelligence Planner (Exercise) at the Senior level to support a program enabling integrated joint/combined space operations. The program supports the planning, integration, execution and assessment of global space operations in order to deliver combat relevant space capabilities to U.S. and coalition partners. The Intelligence Planner will support intelligence analysis and operations to gain space domain awareness as well as provide intelligence support to operational planning to enable assured delivery of space capabilities.


  • Employs intelligence expertise and knowledge to assist in the integration of Defense and National intelligence support capabilities, including collection, analytic and targeting activities into overarching operational planning functions and efforts across the DoD. Mission areas for Intelligence Planner assistance include, but not limited to, development of campaign plans, deliberate planning, crisis management, and time sensitive planning in accordance with the joint operations planning and execution system (JOPES). Additionally, planners assist with red teaming and intelligence operations feasible assessments within the planning process.
  • Conducts Joint Space Intelligence Exercise Planning and execution activities at USSPACECOM.
  • Maintains the Responsibility for developing, documenting, and orchestrating the USSPACECOM intelligence enterprise during combatant command directed operational Intelligence exercises, wargames, and technology demonstrations.
  • Coordinates and integrates DoD and national intelligence capabilities to challenge, train, and assess USSPACECOM intelligence enterprise.
  • Supports intelligence readiness across all ongoing operations and planning efforts.
  • Documents intelligence gaps and shortfalls and supports readiness reviews and improving intelligence operations. Informs and advises US SPACECOM J2, Deputy J2, J27, and J28.
  • Coordinates with USSPACECOM J3, J5, J7, and J8.
  • Applies joint and Intelligence Community doctrine, instructions, and manuals supporting the development of operational intelligence in support of space operations.
  • Monitors and reviews strategies, doctrine, policies, directives, instructions, and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP) within the US space community, and makes recommendations to ensure compliance and / or consideration.
  • Integrates strategy, guidance, directives, and TTP into exercises wargames and technology demonstrations.
  • Documents exercise scenarios, wargame structure, technology demonstration objectives, processes, and outcome in support of USSPACECOM priorities.
  • Coordinates and documents intelligence exercise assessments, lessons learned and readiness reviews with exercise audiences and the US SPACECOM J2 staff.


  • Active TS/SCI, must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in common Joint intelligence Exercise Planning concepts.
  • Possesses experience as a Joint intelligence Exercise Planner at a Combatant Command. Joint Professional Military Education (Phase 2), and Joint Intelligence Planner Course (Phase 1) completion are highly desired.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive mission knowledge and skills that affirms completion of all developmental training and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced. Structures analytic questions based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organizations, and intelligence disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with other members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
  • Demonstrates ability to guide teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Joint Professional Military Education (Phase 2), and Joint Intelligence Planner Course (Phase 1) completion are highly desired.
  • At least 12 years of experience relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years
  • Master's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college of universtiy accredited by an agency or recognized by the U.S. Department of Education OR have a Bachelor's degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master’s degree.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
