SOSi is currently seeking an experienced Intelligence Planner (Joint) at the Mid level to support a program enabling integrated joint/combined space operations. The program supports the planning, integration, execution and assessment of global space operations in order to deliver combat relevant space capabilities to U.S. and coalition partners. The Intelligence Planner will support intelligence analysis and operations to gain space domain awareness as well as provide intelligence support to operational planning to enable assured delivery of space capabilities.


  • Employs intelligence expertise and knowledge to assist in the integration of defense and national intelligence support capabilities, including collection, analytic and targeting activities, into overarching operational planning functions and efforts across the DoD. Mission areas for Intelligence Planner assistance include, but not limited to, development of campaign plans, deliberate planning, crisis management, and time sensitive planning according to the Joint Operations Planning and execution system (JOPES). Additionally, planners assist with red teaming and intelligence operations feasibility assessments within the planning process.
  • Advises and monitors an Intelligence planning team and ensures space intelligence equities are integrated into strategic and operational level military planning and / or execution
  • Provides status updates to USSPACECOM J2 and staff on JIP activities.
  • Provides intelligence support to campaign, contingency, and crisis planning, due to multiple years of experience on CCMD J2 (intelligence) staff.
  • Synchronizes intelligence cycle supporting collection, analysis, production, and targeting in the JPP.
  • Assists with red teaming and intelligence operations feasible assessments within the planning process.
  • Provides leadership while establishing an intelligence planning enterprise in a newly formed military organizations with space missions, roles, and functions.
  • Facilitates Coordination of space intelligence and space intelligence planning across the staff, other COCOMs, interagency, intelligence community, and partner nations.


  • Active TS/SCI, must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in common Joint intelligence Exercise Planning concepts.
  • Possesses experience as a Joint intelligence Exercise Planner at a Combatant Command. Joint Professional Military Education (Phase 2), and Joint Intelligence Planner Course (Phase 1) completion are highly desired.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive mission knowledge and skills that affirms completion of all developmental training and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced. Structures analytic questions based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organizations, and intelligence disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with other members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
  • Demonstrates ability to guide teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Joint Professional Military Education (Phase 2), and Joint Intelligence Planner Course (Phase 1) completion are highly desired.
  • At least 8 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
