SOSi is currently seeking an experienced Space/Counterspace Analyst at the Senior level in support of a program providing research and development (R&D) and operations and maintenance activities to support collect requirements, capabilties gap analysis, material solutions analysis, and collection operations planning activities for our U.S. Government customer. Additional support involves the development of technical reports to support future R&D technical collection activities, collection reporting, engineering contract support for aerospace exploitation and analysis, and dedicated foreign disclosure support of operational programs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all source analytic production of foreign space capabilities including, but not limited to, foreign adversary space doctrine, strategy, communications and collections, vulnerabilities, platforms, assembly and launch capabilities, weapons, dual use systems and technologies, and emerging space technologies
  • Work with engineers and scientists on foreign space capabilities.
  • Research foreign space and counterspace forces, activities, and capabilities including, but not limited to, civilian and military organizations; command structure, leadership, equipment, weapons, and systems and the readiness and disposition.
  • Conduct analysis of foreign space facilities; operations, exercises and training; tactics, techniques, and procedures; vulnerabilities; assembly and launch capabilities; dual use systems and technologies; and emerging space and counterspace technologies.
  • Develops, coordinates, executes, and refines USSPACECOM counter space warning problems and associated indicators.
  • Monitors and reports on adversary space and counter space assets OR&D.
  • Develops pattern of life analysis on adversary space and counterspace forces and systems.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI, must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph.
  • Demonstrate extensive ability to produce timely, logical and concise analytic reports, documents, assessments, studies and briefing materials in formats including Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of the labor category activities required to meet mission.
  • Demonstrates mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and pursue developments in academia or other fields that affect tradecraft.
  • Demonstrates ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks.
  • Demonstrates in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Master’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; OR have a Bachelor's degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master’s.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
