Overview

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking an energetic individual to join its Business Development (BD) Group as a Proposal Manager. The Proposal Manager will provide guidance and management direction to proposal teams for all aspects of the proposal-development process. As a Proposal Manager with SOSi, you will work closely with Capture Managers and other staff, including Program Managers, Coordinators, Writers, and Graphics personnel to develop compliant federal proposals. Our Proposal Managers provide oversight and management for all proposal activities and must have solid communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the proposal team, working with the Capture Lead to identify key proposal support needed (technical, management, past performance, etc.). This includes internal and external resource coordination
  • Analyze and interpret Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements, and ensures that final proposals are accurate, complete, and compliant with package instruction and evaluation specifications
  • Facilitate proposal development meetings, discussions and brainstorming sessions during the entire proposal lifecycle to include kickoff and color team reviews; question-and-answer meetings; solution and theme development sessions; and other work groups, when needed
  • Determine the proposal management plan and is responsible for its implementation to include producing detailed outlines, compliance matrices, and proposal mockups to fulfill requirements
  • Review completed storyboards and proposal sections to address requirements
  • Develop and manage detailed proposal milestone schedules and simultaneously plan, track, and manage all activities required to meet them
  • Communicate with the proposal development team via regular meetings to transfer knowledge across all functional areas
  • Provide guidance and instruction to Proposal Coordinators, graphic artists, volume leads and section authors
  • Collaborate with teaming partners external to SOSi on larger bids
  • Write non-technical proposal narrative, as needed
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in Business Development/Proposal experience in the government contracting industry
  • 2-3 years direct Proposal management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Candidates are subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information    
  • Knowledge of Shipley or other formal proposal management training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Professional
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs
  • Work environment is often stressful and detail oriented as it is a timeline driven department with set objectives and hard due dates
  • Department often works non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary
