SOS International, LLC is currently looking for an experienced Information Assurance Analyst to work on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Honolulu, Hawaii. The Mission Partner Environment Engineering Services (MPE-ES) team in Honolulu, Hawaii creates network infrastructure designs for USINDOPACOM services. Our designs are secure, reliable and resilient and support USINDOPACOM’s mission and its 5000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems with architecturally-unique solutions that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical C2 strategies. The team develops systems to ensure that every segment of our enterprise infrastructure is healthy and manageable, and is robust enough to connect hundreds of cutting-edge embedded systems theater-wide. We are seeking experienced engineers to help us deliver our private cloud platform to the warfighter, to include this Information Assurance Analyst position at JBPHH.



As an Information Assurance Analyst, the aspiring candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of security measures to protect information technology networks and systems. They will collaborate with the team to bolster our cyber defense posture and management the complexities of information assurance for our unique enterprise. The analyst will work closely with our mission partners, customers, and stakeholders to understand their operational objectives and ensure DoD security procedures are developed and implemented in alignment to those objectives.  The applicant may also help establish and implement security policies that conform to the mission requirements.


The position will require at least an active DoD Secret security clearance and SOSi will be unable to consider candidates not cleared at this level. The successful candidate must have proven strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work effectively within all areas of the organization under minimal supervision. Aspirant must have experience in network security and should have experience with DOD/Military/Agency architectures, to include network, security, policies, and operations. Where applicable, the job may also require troubleshooting problems; coordinating activities of LAN support personnel, provide guidance on common networking issues; assessing vendor products; managing network performance, and maintaining network security.


Daily Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead for all authorization packages on the MPE-ES team to include RMF ATO packages in eMASS and Cross Domain Appendices
  • Serve on multiple functional teams in support of the MPE enterprise, to include the IA Policy & Audit, Incident Management and Response, Cyber Monitoring, Firewall Management, and Scanning Teams
  • Provide end user IA support for all computer equipment operating systems, peripherals, and applications.
  • Maintain network security and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software for IA problems.
  • Participate in developing and implementing network-related procedures and standards.
  • Participate in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
  • Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Conduct tests of IA safeguards in accordance with established test plans and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Understand and implement technical vulnerability corrections.
  • Examine potential security violations to determine if Department of Defense policy has been breached, assess the impact, and preserve evidence.
  • Work with partners, customers and stakeholders to configure, optimize, and test network servers, hubs, routers, and switches to ensure that they comply with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain defense systems including endpoint security, perimeter firewalls, and intrusion detection, and vulnerability detection systems.


  • An active in-scope SECRET security clearance with the ability to acquire a TS/SCI security clearance
  • U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Passport
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent years of experience) AND a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level III Certification such as CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC or CCISO
  • Recent experience with eMASS and the RMF process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Functional knowledge of DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1253, NIST 800-53 rev4
  • Strong Understanding of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800.53 security controls and control families
  • Experience implementing and maintaining security controls
  • Strong organizational, administrative, multi-tasking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Energetic, forward-thinking and resourceful individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image
  • Cross-functional team collaboration skills in a rapidly changing, high intensity, mission-oriented work environment
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network security
  • Knowledge of scanning, endpoint security, and firewall technologies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
  • Strong familiarity with Coalition and Multi-National information sharing systems, policies and environments
  • Technically competent, solid decision making and critical thinking, strong customer focus, self-motivated, desire to learn, effective and professional interpersonal skills, pride in work, strong team player
