SOSi is currently seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join our team in Fort Meade, MD in support of IT, Engineering & Logistics for the Defense Information School (DINFOS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform Enterprise network management services to ensure desktop and application performance/availability.
  • Responsible for server administration and support, including Windows and Linux/UNIX support; verifying network backups and tape library functions; and recommending system enhancements.
  • Proactively monitor domain-specific systems to include data storage, responsively communicating and reporting issues.
  • Resolve escalated customer requests and provide engineering or network solutions to ensure successful resolution of system problems.
  • Manage and administer network systems and resources for the program's IT infrastructure.
  • Perform storage area network administration including disk configuration, tape library configuration, tape inventory rotation, and tape restore operations.
  • Perform installation design, procure, and install new cabling, equipment, and associated hardware and software to extend and/or enhance existing services.
  • Manage enterprise and domain architectures with the objective to maximize performance and service levels to enterprise and domain-level users.
  • Manage the cloud-based email solution through Microsoft for specific customers.
  • Monitor networks, using existing domain-level specific tools, ensuring switch and router health, network performance, and security.
  • Perform operational and maintenance activities for all network systems to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Evaluate network system performance and make recommendations for improving performance.
  • Provide service escalation support (Tier 2 and Tier 3) to the respective help desk/call centers for resolution of incidents.
  • Create standard image sets from the domain approved baselines for all networked devices.
  • Experience with implementing approved security configuration baselines IAW DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess or be eligible for favorable T1 (NACI, national Agency Check) investigation
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related (OR the equivalent years' of relevant experience)
  • Minimum of two (2) years' of experience performing Network Administration on DoD Networks
  • DoD 8570.01 IAT level II (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) or higher is required
  • Knowledge of network backups and disaster recovery.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure solution testing and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active in scope SECRET clearance.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
