SOSi is seeking a Power Generation Technician to support a customer in Juba, South Sudan. The Power Generation Technician must support operations and maintenance of the site's power generation systems and capability. 

Responsibilities

  • Ability to interpret and apply manufacturer repair manuals, technical specifications, schematics, engineering drawings, and diagnostic tools 
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to perform corrective and preventive maintenance on power generation equipment to include engine, Alternating Current (AC) alternators, electronic controls, electrical wiring, and accessories  

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum five years of experience with power generators 
  • Knowledge in electrical theory and a understanding of power equations
  • Skill in load testing, all calculations that must be done, and safety measures 
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required 
  • Recent experience with current electrical work standards
    • National Electrical Code – most updated version
    • British Standard: BS 7671 - Requirements for Electrical Installations. IET Wiring Regulations 
    • Hartford Steam Boiler Electrical Preventive Maintenance (EPM) 
  •  

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer graduate of an accredited diesel school
  • Work experience in hazardous environments desired 

 

Working Conditions

  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be austere
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and potential for hazardous conditions 
  • Personnel should be aware of the potential requirement to move on short notice and under adverse conditions
