SOSi is seeking a Cable Television (CATV) Technician II to support the 379th Communications Squadron in Qatar.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

• Provide Intermediate level experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, alignments, testing and troubleshooting of CATV broadcast equipment as specified.
• Supply, install, operate and maintain CATV systems and equipment, including the Government satellite cable network and FM Armed Forces Radio and Television Service radio broadcasts and support the day-to-day technical operations of the CATV infrastructure.
• Install, repair and maintain CATV equipment and subsystem equipment, existing cables, junction boxes and interface equipment.
• Install inside cable plant coaxial cable to support expansion of the system, including support to identify defective cable, replace and bury CATV cabling.
• Support Commanders’ Access Channel, Force Protection Channel and Morale Channel.

• Intermediate level of “Hands On” experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment.
• Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits and be able to exercise independent judgement.
• In Scope DoD Secret clearance.
• Candidate must successfully meet Visa and CRC processing requirements to include USCENTCOM SG MOD 14 and 15.
• Candidate must have a valid US passport.

• Experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, alignments, testing and troubleshooting of CATV broadcast receive equipment.
• Familiarization with:
  • Downlink antennas
  • LNB’s
  • Decoders
  • Modulators
  • Signal monitors
  • Fiber Optic Distribution
  • Video ticker system
  • Phase Alternating Line (PAL) Encoding System
• Fluency in a foreign language desired but not required.

• This position is in an environment with austere and challenging conditions in extreme heat.
• There may be lifting and climbing requirements up to 25 pounds and 50 feet.
