Overview

SOSi is seeking a Help Desk Technician II to support the 379th Communications Squadron in Qatar.

 

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

Responsibilities

  • Provide Intermediate level responsibility for front line customer Help Desk support, responding to and resolving computer, printer, and network issues.
  • Conduct systems management, monitoring, and sustainment.
  • Perform hardware repair for PCs and peripheral equipment.
  • Assist base user population in software installation, maintenance, and sustainment.
  • Comply with all associated guidance and directives in the SPIN-C.
  • Comply with guidance and directives issued in CTOs and in NOTAMs.
  • Comply with all associated DoD, USAF, USCENTCOM, USAFCENT, and local instructions.
  • Use of Remedy to report and track all local and enterprise issues associated with network and systems operations.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of “Hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair and troubleshooting or maintenance of desktop computer systems or equipment.
  • Must have experience in installing/deleting of client level software.
  • In Scope DoD Secret clearance.
  • Must meet DoD 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ or equivalent.
  • Must possess MCSA Windows 10 or newer certification.
  • Must possess MCSA Windows Server 2012 or newer certification or MCSA SQL Server 2012/14.
  • Excellent customer service skills are mandatory. 
  • Display high degree of quick decision making and detailed task management to ensure all work orders not resolved at the Help Desk are immediately assigned to the appropriate IT groups.
  • Candidate must successfully meet Visa and CRC processing requirements to include USCENTCOM SG MOD 14 and 15.
  • Candidate must have a valid US passport.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in diagnostic and troubleshooting of basic computer workstation.
  • Experience in implementing/installing software patches, security fixes, and service release of workstation.
  • Experience in remote technical, operational and training support of users with personal computers.
  • Fluency in a foreign language desired but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Working environment is a climate-controlled facility.  Outdoor temperatures may exceed temperatures of 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
