Overview
SOSi is seeking a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Technician II to support the 379th Communications Squadron in Qatar.
**This position is contingent upon contract award**
Responsibilities
Provide responsive services to include installation and support of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of LMR, Emergency Mass Notification Systems (EMNS), quality control and performance standards, status reporting, MSL and other actions required by policies.
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, optimization, programming, installation, and removal of LMR and EMNS.
Identify and provide recommendations for coverage deficiencies when directed by Government personnel.
Assist in the management of the base personal wireless communication system AIMS database.
Identify and assist in the resolution of frequency interference issues IAW AFI 10-707 and host nation directives.
Must be adequately tower/climbing certified to perform the required tasks. Technicians must also maintain tower climbing certification.
Supply, install, and de-install LMR mobile and base station to include antenna, transmission cables, and other LMR equipment defined in the individual TO.
Install, operate, and maintain equipment required to support trunked and conventional LMR systems.
Qualifications
In Scope DoD Secret clearance.
Intermediate level “hands on” experience in maintenance/troubleshooting of Motorola and other LMR equipment as specified in the task order to include:
Communications consoles
Repeaters
SRX-2200, XTS-5000 and other various handheld radios
Trunked and non-trunked LMR systems
Key loaders, antennas, multi-couplers, duplexers
Test equipment, such as service monitors/communication system analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, power meters, spectrum analyzer
Digital recording equipment
Over the air keying equipment (key management facility)
Site controllers
Must be qualified to install LMR base stations, repeaters, and mobile radios.
Must have LMR shop operations and management experience in a large-scale LMR shop and be familiar with equipment tracking databases.
Technicians must be adequately tower/climbing certified to perform required tasks.
Candidate must successfully meet Visa and CRC processing requirements to include USCENTCOM SG MOD 14 and 15.
Candidate must have a valid US passport.
Preferred Qualifications
Must have the ability to engineer, install and maintain Land Mobile Radio equipment to support new and emerging requirements.
Fluency in a foreign language desired but not required.
Working Conditions
This position is in an environment with austere and challenging conditions in extreme heat.
There may be lifting and climbing requirements up to 25 pounds and 50 feet.
