SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking an Economic Analyst (Senior) to support a government program in Charlottesville, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research and analysis of foreign economic structures and how they support their military industrial complexes
  • Performs analysis of economic health of foreign states and non-states and help determine the true level of defense spending and financial ability for and sustain military operations
  • Performs research and analysis to determine potential economic leverage points and vulnerabilities of foreign economies
  • Combine empirical or quantitative methods with data analysis for intelligence production for complex and data-driven assessments
  • Develop analytic strategies to resolve key intelligence questions of mission-driven requirements
  • Research, analyze, compile, evaluate, and integrate all-source intelligence information into a variety of intelligence products
  • Collaborate with counterpart analysts, collectors, and leaders throughout the DoD and IC agencies to facilitate the exchange of all-source intelligence information as necessary in fulfillment of normal program production
  • This position requires travel to various CONUS and OCONUS locations

Qualifications

  • Active in scope TS/SCI clearance, must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph
  • MA or MS degree in related field AND 10 years of experience as an Economic Analyst on DoD programs and projects that provided expert intelligence analysis services; OR BA/BS degree in related field AND 15 years of experience as Economic Analyst on DoD programs and projects that provided expert economic analysis services; OR 17 years of experience as an Economic Analyst on DoD programs and projects that provided expert intelligence analysis services
  • Meets all qualifications and skills of a Mid Economic Analyst Level II
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of economic activities required to meet mission requirements
  • Demonstrates mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and pursue developments in academia or other fields that affect tradecraft methodology
  • Demonstrates ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks
  • Demonstrates in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrates ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products
  • Demonstrated experience with all-source intelligence processes, data evaluation, and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to manage research and coordination for long-term projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), and Human Intelligence (HUMINT)
  • Demonstrated experience with intelligence analysis tools and databases
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of a wide range of National Level, DoD and IC agencies Information Security Program and Foreign Disclosure concepts, principles, practices and procedures to review, analyze, and release classified and unclassified data in accordance with the National Disclosure Policy
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of data transfer requirements for moving data  between classified and unclassified computer systems
  • Demonstrates mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and pursue developments in academia or other fields that affect tradecraft methodology
  • Demonstrates ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks
  • Demonstrates in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings
  • Demonstrates ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability producing reports for senior DoD decision makers
  • Demonstrated experience with the application of quantitative and qualitative analytic methods
  • Detailed knowledge of DoD and/or IC interagency operations
  • Superior understanding of DoD Intelligence processes, activities, standards, and available analytic tools with general understanding of program operations
  • Knowledge of and experience in planning and executing technical studies and reports for computer systems and computer networks
  • Knowledge of and experience with Conventional and Irregular Warfare concepts and operations
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
  • This position requires travel to various CONUS and OCONUS locations
