SOSi is currently seeking a Mechanic, Automobile Lead to perform Automobile Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors on the SOUTHCOM LOGCAP V contract in Soto Cano, Honduras.

• Work involves most of the following: diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts, such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves.
• Rebuilding carburetors.
• overhauling transmissions.
• Repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.

• A high school diploma or certificate from a vocational program for the trade discipline is preferred.
• Must have 3 years of experience working in a similar position.
• Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Must have successfully completed a journeyman program for the trade discipline.
• Must hold a valid trade licensure in the jurisdiction where work is to be performed (when required by local law).
• This position requires skills such as walking, running, climbing, crawling, and jumping and other similar physical activities.
• Must be able to endure extreme climate conditions and be able to work in an outdoor setting.

• Fluency in Spanish is desirable, but not required.

• Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable or hazardous at times.
• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
• Requires periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
• Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
