SOSi is currently seeking a Mechanic, Tactical Vehicle Lead to analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains power equipment, such as HUMVEEs, JLTVs, L-ATVs, S-ATVs, and other similar vehicles on the SOUTHCOM LOGCAP V contract in Soto Cano, Honduras.

• Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
• Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
• Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges;
• Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions; and
• Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.  
• Welds broken parts and structural members, may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment, and may repair, adjust, and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.

• A high school diploma or certificate from a vocational program for the subject trade discipline is preferred.
• Must have 3 years of experience working in a similar position.
• Must have successfully completed a journeyman program for the trade discipline.
• Must hold a valid trade licensure in the jurisdiction where work is to be performed (when required by local law).
• This position requires skills such as walking, running, climbing, crawling, and jumping and other similar physical activities.
• Must be able to endure extreme climate conditions and be able to work in an outdoor setting.

• Fluency in Spanish is desirable, but not required.

• Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable or hazardous at times.
• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
• Requires periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
• Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
