Overview

SOSI is currently looking for a Secret cleared Systems Administrator to join our team in Ramstein, Germany. The Mission Partner Environment Engineering Support (MPE ES) team at Ramstein AB, Germany is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator. The candidate will be responsible for working with multiple members of systems and network team around the globe and supporting information sharing with our international partners. In support of our customers, the Systems Team provides systems expertise, hardware/software installation, and network troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and deploy Ubuntu 18.04+
  • Configure Docker containers
  • Perform group policy creation, editing, and management.
  • Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for compliance
  • Perform software installation/troubleshooting
  • VMWare vSphere familiarization
  • Perform Windows PowerShell scripting
  • Develop and maintain and understanding of network devices and the CLI
  • Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts
  • Maintain system documentation
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
  • Program in an administrative language
  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results
  • Provide advice and training to end-users
  • Participate in special projects as required
  • Patch and update multiple client and server operating systems to Department of Defense guidelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Debian based servers and devices
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate and improve user support activities

Qualifications

  • An active in-scope SECRET clearance
  • High School Diploma with eleven (11) years of IT related experience, OR Associate's degree with seven (7) plus years of IT related experience, OR Bachelor's degree in with 5 (five) plus years of IT related experience
  • Must receive TESA approval from the German government
  • DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant (e.g., CompTIA Security+ certification)
  • Required knowledge and experience:
    • Alpine Linux
    • Ubuntu 18.04+ Linux
    • vSphere/Proxmox
    • Physical servers, CMC, iDRAC
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 & 7
    • SharePoint 2013
    • Docker

Preferred Qualifications

  • MCSA or higher Microsoft certification
  • 8-10 years of related experience in systems administration in support of the DoD.
  • Familiarity with NATO, Bilateral/Multilateral, Mission Partner Environment (MPE) systems.
  • Familiarity with Coalition and Multi-National information sharing systems, policies, and environments.
  • Technically competent, solid decision making and critical thinking, strong customer focus, self-motivated, desire to learn, effective and professional interpersonal skills, pride in work, strong team player.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.

Working Conditions

  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
