Overview

SOS International, LLC is currently looking for an experienced Senior Network Administrator to join our team in Oahu, Hawaii at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the planning, design, acquisition, installation, and maintenance of LAN and WAN, electronic mail, telecommunications, and PC based systems and related software. Evaluates hardware and software, including peripheral, output, and telecommunications equipment. Sets up and administers security procedures; troubleshoots problems; establishes and implements LAN policies and their conformance; coordinates activities of LAN support personnel, providing guidance on common networking issues. Assesses vendor products; manages network performance, troubleshoots problems, and maintains network security.

  • Manages the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks.
  • Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
  • Participates in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
  • Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Reviews work efforts/implementations and contributes to analysis, After-Action-Reports (AAR).
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.
  • Provide leadership and direction to less-experienced network personnel.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of network devices and systems.
  • Maintains system documentation.
  • Interacts with users for information gathering, problem isolation/resolution and updates.
  • Patches and updates network devices and configures such according to Department of Defense security guidelines.
  • Monitors overall network health and troubleshoots reported events.

Qualifications

  • An active in-scope SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or the equivalent years of experience) AND a minimum of six (6) years of related network administration and analysis experience.
  • Quick learner with an attention to detail.
  • Planning and time-management skills.
  • Customer-service oriented with a willingness to participate and assist.
  • Able to follow oral instructions and/or written guidance.
  • Able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Able to communicate clearly (orally and in writing) with both customers and team members.
  • Able to provide clear and concise updates (tickets) and/or turn-overs (pass downs).

Preferred Qualifications

  • An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP)
  • Previous experience with or working knowledge of:
    • Help Desk/Ticketing Systems (e.g., JIRA, Remedy, ServiceNow)
    • Firewalls (e.g., Cisco, ForcePoint, Juniper, Palo Alto)
    • VoIP/Unified Communications (e.g., Cisco Call Manager)
    • Fiber (e.g., connectivity, handling, management, termination)
    • Encryption and Certificate Management (PKI)
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends.
