**This position is contingent upon contract award**

 

SOSi is seeking a Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner to join a medical support services program supporting our U.S. Government customer's humanitarian assistance mission. 

Responsibilities

  • Help provide primary care to patients.
  • Perform physical exams and patient observations.
  • Record patient medical histories and symptoms.
  • Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
  • Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor and operate medical equipment.
  • Diagnose health issues.
  • Detect changes in a patients health and change treatment plans as necessary.
  • Administer medicines and treatments.
  • Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
  • Consult with healthcare professionals.
  • Train patients and families on managing illnesses or injuries and disease prevention.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy of medical records.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an approved physician assistant educational program
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Must have experience with Communicable Diseases.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.  
  • Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with retail and medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.
  • Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including consecutive nights and weekends when necessary; shift work required.
