SOSi is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team supporting emergency shelter operations in Southwest Texas. Operations will provide temporary residential shelter care and other related services to migrant families, including housing, childcare, medical and mental health services, case management, legal services, recreation, religious services, and food services. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting similar Shelter Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Expectations are to support directorate level reporting on cash and billing, major program billing, revenue recognition, cash collection and project structure maintenance.
  • Generates and prepares spreadsheets depicting project performance and provides charts and graphs to illustrate existing and future performance.
  • Develops and maintains expenditure plans to include level of effort projections as well as depletion dates for current funding.
  • Develops and analyzes Estimates To Complete (ETC), maintains program budgets, monitors actual costs and commitments.
  • Develops cost estimates for future project performance periods and reports variances against previous projections and pricing standards.
  • With assistance of the Director, develops compliant cost models (EACs).
  • Prepares project reports to aid program management managers in controlling projects.
  • Researches and communicates to management in a timely manner inquires on unusual or questionable cost.
  • Supports monthly internal / external financial and program reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting career field.
  • 3-5 year of business finance or other relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement suitability determination for holding a Public Trust position.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain pre-employment medical clearance.
  • Must be an Advanced Microsoft Excel “Power User”, including experience working with VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, conditional formatting, if-then statement utilization
  • Familiarity with financial accounting close process as it related to U.S. GAAP.
  • Familiarity with Government cost accounting standards (CAS), as they relate to timekeeping, allowable cost, allocation of cost, differing contract types
  • Experience in project set up, contract value/funding and PoP reconciliation
  • Excellent business acumen and strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CostPoint 7 and COGNOS reporting.
  • Fluency in a Spanish language desired, but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including consecutive nights and weekends when necessary; shift work required.
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
