SOSi is seeking a Lead Case Manager to join our team supporting emergency shelter operations in Southwest Texas. Operations will provide temporary residential shelter care and other related services to migrant families, including housing, childcare, medical and mental health services, case management, legal services, recreation, religious services, and food services. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting similar Shelter Operations.


  • Coordinates case management and family reunification services for migrant families.
  • Initiates and maintains direct contact with each family until reunification or release from the facility.
  • Develops a plan of care for the assigned personnel from admission to discharge.
  • Facilitates the timely release or discharge of identified family members or authorized caregiver/custodian and documents the provision of services in each case file.
  • Conducts and documents assessments in accordance with customer policies and procedures.
  • May arrange referrals, consultations, therapeutic services, and confer with other specialists on courses of care and treatment.
  • Reports significant incidents in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with counselors and care coordinators to ensure communication.
  • Maintains the customer database in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant behavioral science.
  • Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish and English is required,
  • One (1) plus years of case management experience working with migrant families or unaccompanied children.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement suitability determination for holding a Public Trust position.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain pre-employment medical clearance.
  • Ability to act responsibly, professionally, and use good judgment under pressure required.
  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and staff management skills.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including consecutive nights and weekends when necessary; shift work required.
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
