SOSi is seeking an Operations Specialist to join our team supporting emergency shelter operations in Southwest Texas. Operations will provide temporary residential shelter care and other related services to migrant families, including housing, childcare, medical and mental health services, case management, legal services, recreation, religious services, and food services. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting similar Shelter Operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the PMO and Shelter site with daily operations tasks.
  • Participate in operational meetings as required to discuss operations and support personnel performance in order to identify program deficiencies and propose potential solutions.
  • Conduct analysis and provide reports with recommendations for assigned work functions, activities, processes and organizational departments.
  • Assist with the development of systems, processes and tools to enhance program performance.
  • Maintain communication with program support staff.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required to achieve assigned duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree.
  • Minimum of two years of Operations/Operations Support experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement suitability determination for holding a Public Trust position.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain pre-employment medical clearance.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Office Software).
  • Willingness to work in a “hands-on” role, multi-task, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Must be high-energy, flexible, work well with teams, and able to find creative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Prior Shelter experience working with Migrant families and/or children.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including consecutive nights and weekends when necessary; shift work required.
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
