Overview

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

SOSi is seeking a Business Analyst Lead to join our team supporting emergency shelter operations in Southwest Texas. Operations will provide temporary residential shelter care and other related services to migrant families, including housing, childcare, medical and mental health services, case management, legal services, recreation, religious services, and food services. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting similar Shelter Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.  
  • Leading grooming & estimation sessions with the product development team.
  • Managing backlog prioritization to deliver features based upon business need & weighted shortest job first analysis.
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest process and software development advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Performing requirements analysis.
  • Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.
  • Managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance.
  • Updating and maintaining procedures, product & technical specifications, customer facing API documentation, and release notes.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and provides logistical arrangements for conferences and meetings, including but not limited to assembling background materials, record of proceedings, etc.
  • Maintains appropriate records of research methods and results of data collection in written reports.
  • Assists in leading project teams as assigned or required by the Program Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 - 5 years of experience directly related to program and/or project management support services.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Strong computer and software proficiency to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets and electronic presentations; high proficiency in typing, and automated processes.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement suitability determination for holding a Public Trust position.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain pre-employment medical clearance.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills, strong work ethic and ability to understand and appreciate mission requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and subcontractors, in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Prior Shelter experience working with Migrant families and/or children.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including consecutive nights and weekends when necessary; shift work required.
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
