SOSi is currently seeking a Technician, Fire Alarm Lead on the SOUTHCOM LOGCAP V contract in Soto Cano, Honduras.


  • Inspects, tests, maintains, and repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and National Fire Protection Association standards.
  • Inspects fire alarm equipment visually and replaces defective components; tests initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitter.
  • Makes needed repairs; and checks pressure gauges on suppression system storage containers and recharges or replaces containers.


  • A high school diploma or certificate from a vocational program for the trade discipline is preferred.
  • Must have 3 years of experience working in a similar position.
  • Must have successfully completed a journeyman program for the trade discipline(s.
  • Must hold a valid trade licensure in the jurisdiction where work is to be performed (when required by local law).
  • This position requires skills such as walking, running, climbing, crawling, and jumping and other similar physical activities.
  • Must be able to endure extreme climate conditions and be able to work in an outdoor setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish is desirable, but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable or hazardous at times.
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
  • Requires periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
