SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Banking Specialist to provide Accounting services for the Office of Vouchering & Reconciliation in Disbursing Operations at the Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS) located in Charleston, SC.


  • Create and maintain appropriate journals or subsidiary ledgers to support Regional Financial Management Systems – Disbursing (RFMS-D) transactions.
  • Balance and reconcile USDO US Dollar and Local Currency accounts.
  • Review invoices, journal vouchers and statements, validate information and resolve issues with submitting office.
  • Process and verify multiple transaction types into RFMS-D.
  • Enter adjustments pertaining to information in RFMS-D.
  • Reconcile computer printouts and USD or Local Currency bank statements to validate transactions and identify discrepancies.
  • Research identified discrepancies and provide action to ensure account balance reconciliation.
  • Analyze and reconcile Treasury Reports to DoS financial systems’ reports and Treasury Statement of Difference.
  • Analyze and validate USD checks received, prepare daily bank deposit, and scan checks through over –the counter Net ( system if required.
  • Resolve problems in recurring assignments in accordance with training and experience.
  • Provide support via e-mail or telephone to appropriate personnel at GFS Charleston, US Embassies, Treasury, Federal Reserve, Consular Affairs and other government agencies
  • Provide suggestions for handling unusual or non-recurring transactions.
  • Perform other duties within the Office of International Disbursing as assigned.


  • Security Clearance: Secret - must have Interim Secret to start
  • Education: Must have a four-year degree from an accredited university or college in accounting or a related field such as computer science or business administration
  • Experience: Must have one year overall relevant professional experience. One (1) year of experience with mainframe, web based or client-server technologies and experience performing business systems analysis
  • Experience performing technical task and analysis, working independently as part of a team in analysis, design, and development and testing.
  • As part of a team, can perform logical and physical system designs; develop test plans, and other systems documentation.
  • Possess strong communication skills via written and verbal processes


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with RFMS-D (Regional Financial Management System-Disbursing), Microsoft Office, GFS Knowledge Base, DIS (Document Imaging System), and various websites of government agencies

Working Conditions

  • Workday is 8 hours and 45 minutes with a 45-minute non-compensated between the hours of 6:15 am - 6:00 pm (Core working hours are 9:00 am -3:00 pm), Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays observed at the government site. Work Schedule will be defined based on the work requirements of Global Compensation. Performance under this task order may require work in excess of the normal forty-hour work week to include weekends as the workload requires it. Work performed in excess of 40 hours may be scheduled or unscheduled work and must be authorized by your Project Manager and DoS
