Overview

SOSi is seeking a Public Health Deputy Director to join a large medical support services program in Iraq supporting our U.S. Government customer. The Public Health Deputy Director will be supporting the Public Health Director to ensure establishments under the jurisdiction comply with sanitation standards and properly implement systems to control hazards from entering the food and water supply.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Public Health Director to ensure establishments under the jurisdiction comply with sanitation standards and properly implement systems to control hazards from entering the food and water supply.
  • Conducts preventive medicine and communicable disease control, food and water safety and sanitation.
  • Prepares and implements disaster response programs.
  • Conducts preventive medicine and communicable disease control programs.
  • Conducts epidemiological investigations of communicable diseases and food and water borne disease outbreaks, and makes recommendations.
  • Applies epidemiological and statistical methods to identify and evaluate factors increasing disease morbidity and mortality.
  • Manages administrative aspects of communicable disease including disease detection and management control programs.
  • Develops disease vector surveillance programs.

Qualifications

  • Required and able to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).
  • Master’s degree in Public Health with food and water safety experience.
  • Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience working in public health, with demonstrated strong leadership skills.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • All health care providers and medical support staff must have relevant experience for at least six months out of the past year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deployed experience in Iraq or Afghanistan is desirable.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required. 

Working Conditions

  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
  • Long Hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse condition.
