Overview

SOSi is seeking a Medical Operations and Logistics Manager to join a large medical program supporting the SOSi medical operations, developing and maintaining an international supply chain needed to support medical services in Iraq and other locations. The Medical Operations and Logistics Manager will develop concepts and plans for maintaining staffing and equipment needed to support an at-risk population estimated up to 2000 personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and plans medical operations and emergency care services for population in remote environments.
  • Establishes relationships with potential service providers and vendors to provide medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.
  • Plans, develops, and directs supply chain activities for Class VIII medical supplies.
  • Directs acquisition, receipt, storage, and issue of medical equipment, repair parts, and supplies.
  • Communicates new requirements, concerns, and issues to PMO for resolution.
  • Conducts thorough research in medical licensing, services pricing, recruiting and medical insurance.
  • Organizes and tracks compliance with medical certification and training requirements for medical staff.
  • Establishes and maintains operationally consistent work processes and efficient and cost effective project environment.
  • Perform other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required and able to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).
  • Bachelor’s degree and eight to ten years of experience with expeditionary medical care or leadership equivalent (1 year of experience in a related field may be substituted for each year of the 4 years of college).
  • Knowledge of: base operations, hospital and clinic operations in an expeditionary environment, MEDEVAC, and Trauma Medicine.
  • Strong Ability to work independently, conduct detailed planning, and implement.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; ability to convey medical planning needs.
  • Excellent computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets and electronic presentations.
  • LOGCAP medical of Military Medical Services management experience is preferable.
  • Work experience in hazardous environments desired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required. 

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions as normal for an office environment.
  • Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
