SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking a WAN Section Lead in Fort Huachuca, AZ. The WAN Section Lead reports to the WAN Team Lead and supports all phases of network and transport operations for their assigned WAN section. The WAN Section Lead monitors WAN network critical infrastructure assets and circuits for the RCC-C WAN Team and acts as the main point of technical escalation for administrators within their assigned section. The WAN Section Lead is responsible for technical supervision, technical coordination, and escalation within their assigned WAN region (A, B, C, D, or SIPR). The WAN Section Lead coordinates with the WAN Team Lead, Network Senior Subject Matter Expert, and other WAN Section Leads to ensure continuity across the WAN mission.


  • Supervisory responsibilities to include but not limited to:
    • Reporting and timekeeping; technical/administrative training; assuring ITIL process compliance; actively communicating with the government to include utilizing MS Teams; scheduling to effectively utilize all team resources; support management decision-making; committing to quality management standards, QA/QC compliance, and metrics analysis.
    • Coordinates team schedules ensuring mission coverage.
    • Trains, mentors, coaches, and enforces the SOSi code of conduct.
    • Recommends innovative solutions to more effectively and efficiently support work performance.
    • Provides performance feedback and appraisals for all direct reports.
    • Nominates employees for recognition and awards program.
    • Supports leadership development and succession planning program.
  • Configure assets for SNMPv3 monitoring and incident automation.
  • Perform data configuration and install routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Review and implement NETCOM DoDIN-A CAB approved changes and PPS requests within the DoDIN-A.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems.
  • Orchestrate maintenance schedules to maximize network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network functionality.
  • Configure, test, and maintain WAN equipment and related services.
  • Support patching and system hardening through STIG application.
  • Develops, updates, and provides evidence for POAM maintenance and resolutions for all team controlled assets identified with an open security vulnerability requiring mitigation.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including TTPs, SOPs, and diagrams for all implemented networks and topologies.
  • Analyze application Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and multi-media communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading network component operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators and other devices.
  • Resolve interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing, authentication, and the like.
  • Monitor and conduct performance evaluation of networks, circuits, interfaces, and application data.
  • Support, install, maintain, and troubleshoot all local area networking devices and related software for branch offices and internal and external networks.
  • Provide guidance, work leadership, and structure to less-experienced network engineers and other technical staff to keep up with a dynamic prioritization effort.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Provide timely notification to the Government for critical or high incidents.
  • Review all systems development project requests and coordinate schedules and related departmental activity.
  • Provide on-call support after business hours and during weekends when required.
  • Follow ITIL best practices to manage tickets and processes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
  • Develop and/or maintain SOPs, TTPs, and SmartBooks associated with current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Collaborate with GTMs, Branch Chiefs, Division Chiefs and RCC-C Leadership, as well as NECs, Brigades, and Operations Centers external to the RCC-C.


  • Active in scope Top Secret (TS) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance or the abililty to obtain an Interim Top Secret with SCI eligibility
  • HS +12 yrs similar technical experience or AA/AS +10 or BS/BA +8
  • An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) is required.
  • CSSP-IS Certification
  • Must be willing to work overtime, after hours, holidays, and weekends, as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • FedVTE
  • PMP Certification
  • 3-5 years or more of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Network Monitoring tools including Spectrum, NetScout, ACS, BNA and eHealth.
  • Knowledge of Bluecoat Proxy applications.
  • Knowledge of Network technologies and topologies.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
