Overview

SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking a UNIX Team Lead in Fort Huachuca, AZ. The UNIX Team Lead reports to the Operating Systems Branch Manager and is responsible for all technical requirements associated with server administration (i.e. UNIX systems) within the RCC-C. The UNIX Team lead is supervises the UNIX Team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervisory responsibilities to include but not limited to:
    • Reporting and timekeeping; technical/administrative training; assuring ITIL process compliance; actively communicating with the government to include utilizing MS Teams; scheduling to effectively utilize all team resources; support management decision-making; committing to quality management standards, QA/QC compliance, and metrics analysis.
    • Coordinates team schedules ensuring mission coverage.
    • Assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work.
    • Trains, mentors, coaches, and enforces the SOSi code of conduct.
    • Assures ATCTS reporting compliance and employees training and certifications are current. 
    • Recommends innovative solutions to more effectively and efficiently support work performance.
    • Provides performance feedback and appraisals for all direct reports.
    • Nominates employees for recognition and awards program.
    • Coordinates the cross-utilization of FFP resources to accommodate dynamic service delivery schedules and/or workloads.
    • Supports leadership development and succession planning program.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and update all RCC-C UNIX based systems.
  • Support NIPR and SIPR servers including: Syslog Servers, Snort Servers, Application Servers, ACAS SecurityCenters, and 100 JMS-A/BMS.
  • Administer UNIX systems to ensure integrity and security, configuration, current patching, and perform system scans to maintain high availability of services.
  • Responsive to incident tickets, service requests, restoration of service, and request for change.
  • Maintain underlying operation systems and documentation in support of internal and enterprise applications and update documentation depicting server/system characteristics, physical/logical capability diagrams and security policies and settings.
  • Identify IAVM vulnerabilities on Linux operation system(s) and applications via the DISA web site.
  • Generate and analyze weekly ACAS Scan Reports to complete vulnerability reports.
  • Support patching and system hardening through STIG application.
  • Develops, updates, and provides evidence for POAM maintenance and resolutions for all team controlled assets identified with an open security vulnerability requiring mitigation.
  • Access Linux server to resolve security vulnerabilities based on SCAP reports.
  • Create POAM and/or RA to identify and request vulnerability remediation or acceptance.
  • Support AESS / EPO Testing on Linux servers to follow NETCOM guidance on cybersecurity protection, detection, and remediation.
  • Perform routine System Maintenance and upgrade process and procedures which include: monthly patching application to provide current Red Hat version(s), and the fix for CVEs; designing, planning and performing upgrades to support Red Hat OS as requested from multiple organizations: such as ACAS, ESMS (ITSM), Snort, Database, Web Portal, ARSIGHT, Network Tools teams with an approved ASI/CQR.
  • Resolve application issues or requests via ESMS ticketing system.
  • Provide guidance and work leadership and structure to less-experienced network engineers and other technical staff to keep up with a dynamic prioritization effort.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Review all systems development project requests and coordinate schedules and related departmental activity.
  • Provide timely notification to the Government for any critical or high incidents.
  • Follow ITIL best practices to manage tickets and processes.
  • Develop and/or maintain SOPs, TTPs, and SmartBooks associated with current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Actively collaborate with GTMs, Branch Chiefs, Division Chiefs and RCC-C Leadership, as well as NECs, Brigades, and Operations Centers external to the RCC-C.

Qualifications

  • Active in scope SECRET w/T5 clearance or the ability to obtain Interim SECRET w/T5 eligibility
  • HS +12, or AA/AS + 10 years, or BA/BS +8 years IT experience/education
  • An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) is required
  • Be a positive, self-motivated, and proactive person with the ability to adapt to change and tolerate stressful situations
  • Candidate must communicate effectively with team members, team lead, management, and government customer
  • Must have the ability and desire to research and develop creative solutions to unique problems
  • Server Administration experience
  • Knowlege of the UNIX environment
  • VI Editor experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • PMP Certification
  • 3-5 years or more of supervisory experience
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required

  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
