SOSi is seeking a highly qualified Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) Manager to support an OCONUS US Air Force contract.  The ideal candidate will have experience managing an overall ESH program in an OCONUS contingency environment.


  • Develop and implement an environmental, safety, and health program.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific Environmental Protection Program.
  • Provide an annual report which contains an overall status of the environmental program at the site to include events and actions from the current fiscal year.
  • Respond to all hazardous materials’ spills IAW their approved Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan. This includes expeditiously placing spill containment covers over any effected drainage grates on the aircraft parking ramp.
  • Notify the customer of all pollution incidents. Chemical use will be reported to the Contracting Officer at the end of each month on DD Form 1532 or computer-generated equivalent. This reporting will be included in the monthly work status report.
  • Establish responsibilities and procedures required to effectively administer the Ground, Flight, and Weapons Safety programs. Attain program objectives through conformance with Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Air Force Instructions, executive orders, TOs, USAF directives and all host nation ES&H requirements.
  • Inform all personnel assigned or attached to sites on all safety mandates.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an S&HP for all site safety and health procedures.
  • Establish and maintain a safety library containing all applicable Air Force S&H standards, instructions, directives, TOs, and applicable OSHA directives listed in PWS. This library can be part of the overall library requirements for the contract.
  • Report injuries to Contractor personnel IAW OSHA standards. Maintain copies of all reportable mishap/event reports for one year. Provide mishap/event metrics and/or trend analysis to the Government when directed
  • Cooperate fully and assist government personnel in any government mishap investigation until released by the mishap investigation authority.
  • Conduct a thorough safety investigation of the mishap and submit a written final report to the customer within 15 business days with follow-up reports submitted as necessary. 


  • Active in Scope Secret Security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Certification: HAZWOPER training course.
  • Ability to obtain and pass required medical/immunizations.
  • 3 to 10 years of relevant environmental, health, and safety experience.
  • 5 years’ experience as an ESH Supervisor/Manager.
  • Prior experience on an OCONUS project is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
