SOS International LLC (SOSi), is seeking an experienced Compensation Technician to support American Pay Processing VLBP (Voluntary Leave Bank Processing) team for Global Compensation in Charleston, SC.  The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with payroll processing, analysis, auditing, and monitoring of payroll processes


This Compensation Technician’s primary responsibilities for supporting the programs include, but are not limited to the following:

 Program Initiation

  • Receive program participation approval notification with coversheet and set up new VLP Case Spreadsheet
  • Enter employee’s leave balances into case management database.
  • Biweekly maintenance update VLP Case Spreadsheet and management database
  • Import leave accounting worksheet in to DIS from the CGFSGC Voluntary Leave mailbox
  • Update the VLBP Master Bank Register to maintain statistical data for the Bank Board.
  • Process VLBP enrollment and annual leave deductions
  • Receive VLP audit request prep work and closeout of VLP application actions in DIS.
  • Complete assigned actions items in DIS on aged report weekly.


  1. Donation Processing – Ensures that:
  • Bank/Transfer Donation(s) are received and verified for regulation compliance.
  • Bank/ Transfer Donation is reduced from donor opening annual leave balance.
  • Bank/Transfer Donation is added to opening annual/sick leave balance based on case analysis from internal and outside agency donors.
  • Bank/Transfer Donation returned to internal and outside agency donor or the leave bank in (pro-rated/full amount)
  • Maintain ongoing time and attendance and adjustments in case analysis spreadsheets.


  • Security Clearance: Secret-must have Interim Secret to start
  • Education: Four-year degree from an accredited university or college in accounting or a related field such as computer science or business administration
  • Experience: One year of experience with mainframe, web based or client-server technologies and experience performing business systems analysis. Experience performing technical task and analysis, working independently as part of a team in analysis, design, and development and testing. As part of a team, can perform logical and physical system designs; develop test plans, and other systems documentation. Accounting procedures, policies, and operations experience may be substituted for IT experience. Experience in supporting the development/implementation or large, complex financial management systems is preferred.
  • Personnel shall possess superior multi-tasking, customer service, analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Perform analysis and apply critical thinking to work independently within a team and efficiently answer customer questions. 
  • Requires experience with computer-based applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, and database management systems. MS Office Suite experience at an intermediate level is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the following Software systems preferred but not required: CAPPS (Consolidated American Personnel & Payroll System), Report web, Employee Express, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Global Foreign Affairs Compensation System (GFACS), GFS Knowledge Base (KB), GEMS (Government Employee Management System), DIS (Document Imaging System & various websites of government agencies (Employee Express, IRS, TSP. Office of Personnel Management) and other software systems.

Working Conditions

  • Work environment is normal for office setting in a multiple building campus (closely located) located in a Federal Facility
  • The workday is 8-hour and 45-minutes including a 45-minute non-compensated lunch.
  • Work schedule will be defined based on the work requirements of Global Compensation and may require work in excess of the normal forty-hour work week that may include weekends.
  • Core hours are from 9am-3pm
