Overview

SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our Mission Partner Environment - Engineering Services (MPE-ES) team in Yokota AB, Japan. The MPE-ES Enterprise creates network infrastructure designs for USINDOPACOM services. Our designs are secure, reliable, and resilient and support the USINDOPACOMs mission and its 5000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems with architecturally unique solutions that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical C2 strategies. The team develops systems to ensure that every segment of our enterprise infrastructure is healthy and manageable and is robust enough to connect hundreds of cutting-edge embedded systems theater-wide. We are seeking experienced engineers to help us deliver our private cloud platform to the warfighter, to include this Senior Network Engineer position at Yokota AB.

Responsibilities

This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position that demands high standards. As a senior member of the Mission Partner Environment – Engineering Services (MPE-ES) team, you will Engineer Command and Control IT solutions in support of USINDOPACOM, related component commands, mission partners and relevant operational objectives. The selected candidate for this position should be well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures, and regulations, to include Government Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) mandates. The position is expected to regularly interact with senior DoD personnel, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to prepare and deliver executive-level briefings/IPRs to interested parties as required.

Principal Duties

  • Participate in technical working groups for assessment, design, and roadmap development for the implementation of ZTA solutions.
  • Contribute, provide technical recommendations and attend briefings or information sharing forums, with INDOPACOM and MPE leadership, in support of ZTA initiatives and new capabilities.
  • Interact with vendors, other agencies, and Coalition Partners on behalf of the program.
  • Design architectures to include software, hardware, and communications to support total customer requirements, as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
  • Establish Network information requirements in the development of enterprise-wide/large-scale networking infrastructures (CAN, MAN, WAN).
  • Analyze network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.
  • Analytically and systematically evaluate problems of workflows and network usage, organization and planning and develop appropriate corrective action.
  • Resolve interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing, authentication, and the like.
  • Configure, test, and maintain CAN/WAN/MAN networks, equipment, and related services.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment, and devices (i.e., Call Manager, routers, switches, firewalls, IDS, Crypto, QoS).
  • Validate and test all hardware and software updates, patches, and upgrades prior to implementing on the network.
  • Apply and enforce patches, updates, and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
  • Perform additional network administration duties as directed.
  • Administer network security and/or maintain network security appliances.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Active in-scope Top Secret DoD security clearance with SCI Eligibility and US Passport.
  • CCNP 300-410: Implementing Cisco Enterprise Advanced Routing and Service certification required. 
  • Thorough understanding of Executive Order 14028, OMB Mandate M-22-09, and ZTA related CISA and DOD supporting documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent years of related experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to Network Administration/Engineering on DoD networks to include:
    • COMSEC experience- KG175, KG250, loading key and configuration
    • Cisco LAN switch configuration
    • Cisco router configuration
    • Cisco ASA firewall experience
    • Palo Alto firewall experience
    • Experience with SolarWinds installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) or higher is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology or related discipline
  • ITILv3
  • Recent experience supporting ZTA
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Hybrid schedules may be authorized on case-by-case basis.
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • May require additional foreign travel outside of Japan.
  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
