Overview

 

SOSi is seeking an IT Operations Manager to support the US Army in Rock Island, IL.  The ideal candidate will work closely with other management and functional leads to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost effective technology solutions to enable business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end lifecycle technology and engineering projects across multiple teams, including developing, planning, and executing project plans.
  • Maximize team performance by effectively communicating strategic project plans, direction and performance expectations as well as operations and project objectives.
  • Evaluate project performance by aligning engineering resources to support the goals and requirements of each project.
  • Place a strategic focus on maintaining maximum uptime while simultaneously prioritizing cyber security, technology, and engineering efforts.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including directly with the customers, to develop the proper scope for each project.
  • Develops functional requirements for integrated telecommunications systems.
  • Analyzes task requirements to determine functional and cross-functional requirements.
  • Applies a wide range of analytical techniques, assessments, and other measures in evaluating data to reach appropriate conclusions.
  • Translates/recommends processes and procedures to ensure proper consideration of programmatic, technical, and management factors for overall program management successes. Identifies resources required for each task.
  • Ensures design compliance with all project requirements.
  • Reviews customer specifications, requirements, and budget and leads a project team to develop designs/solutions to best support the requirements
  • Provides cost and schedule input for design assignments.
  • Represent the program in technical discussions with the government.
  • Provide technical direction, daily supervision, and mentorship to engineering staff.

Qualifications

  • An MA/MS degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, or a BA/BS degree and 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active DoD In-scope Secret Security Clearance or an ability to obtain one.
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II certification is required to start (Security+ preferred).
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in IT support (2 years of related education may substitute for years of experience).
  • Education or knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in troubleshooting and support.
  • Understanding of principles, methods, and techniques used in all phases of installation, administration and maintenance of IT and business systems and Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) applications.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of management, other IT professionals and end users.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a military Network Operations Center environment.
  • Fluency in a foreign language desired but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
