Overview

SOSi is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist III to join our Billing team at our operational headquarters in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Calculates billing charges in accordance with contracted terms within the Deltek accounting system.
  • Uses contract calendar for invoicing activities.
  • Reviews billing data from various sources to ensure that the amounts and account numbers are accurate.
  • Investigates the billing suspense items and bills as needed.
  • Submit invoices to customers via email or other payment portals.
  • Post invoices in the accounting systems.
  • Interprets and explains invoices to client and staff as needed.
  • Monitors collection of receivables, contacts customers and resolves accounts over 30 days.
  • Maintains / updates monthly Billing Tracker sheet on a daily basis.
  • Monitors for and informs Billing Manager if there are any problems with the labor, expense report, and contract as well as any other issues hindering invoice preparation.
  • Participates in projects performed by the Billing Department.
  • Identifies potential problems or areas for improvement and recommends solutions.
  • Assists in external and DCAA audits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Accounting degree, or degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • Four to six years of prior billing experience, preferably in a U.S. Government contracting environment.
  • Previous experience with Deltek Costpoint required.
  • Experience with submitting invoices in WAWF desired, but not required.
  • Independent, self-starter who can multi-task effectively, has a strong attention to detail and works with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required. 

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Eligible for remote work after initial training period.
  • No travel will be required.
