Overview

SOSi is currently seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to join our team in Reston, Virginia.  The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for implementing and managing training in all areas of the company.  Operates as an operational business partner performing full life cycle human resources support within the business, through the planning, administration, and execution of training.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and manage learning and development life cycle activities that support required training and professional development:
    • Manages learning information system.
    • Develops learning paths.
    • Develops and delivers training activities, aids, courses, and materials.
    • Develops and maintains a library of learning resources.
  • Facilitates workshops and trainings.
  • Creates personalized, tailor-made programs for specific needs of teams and managers.
  • Identifies gaps or issues found in training or administration.
  • Monitors and reports employee training metrics.
  • Conducts audits to monitor training and compliance standards.
  • Manages training vendor contracts.
  • Supports onboarding process of new hires.
  • Adapts quickly to changing business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in business, HR or other related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in HR and/or training; preferably in a government contracting industry.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters without disclosing to unauthorized personnel.
  • Ability to multi-task; organize, and prioritize multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions as normal for an office environment.
  • May require periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
