SOSi is seeking a mid-level Imagery Scientist in Charlottesville, VA that will provide scientific and technical support as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of applied remote sensing professionals. Responsibilities include full implementation of remote sensing capabilities including analysis and production, test and evaluation, data processing, exploitation, and dissemination, intelligence production and workflow. The candidate will provide technical input to developers and test and execute exploitation algorithms, tools, and methodologies to extract valuable information from complex airborne and satellite sensor data, to include spectral, thermal, and/or synthetic aperture radar (SAR). The candidate must have experience with Hyperspectral Imagery.
Works with government Imagery Scientists to develop and apply new analytical quality standards and guidelines and may lead small production teams focused on a particular customer, target, or region. Performs duties with minimal oversight; applies knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies; provides technical assistance to project leaders and program managers. Prepares and delivers technical presentations for community-sponsored Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) symposiums, meetings, working groups and collection exercises.
