Overview

SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking an experienced Top Secret cleared Security Engineer to join our team in Hickam AFB, HI. The Mission Partner Environment - Engineering Services (MPE-ES) team based out of Hawaii creates network infrastructure designs for USINDOPACOM services. Our designs are secure, reliable, and resilient and support the USINDOPACOMs mission and its 5000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems with architecturally unique solutions that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical C2 strategies.

Responsibilities

The team develops systems to ensure that every segment of our enterprise infrastructure is healthy and manageable and is robust enough to connect hundreds of cutting-edge embedded systems theater-wide. We are seeking experienced engineers to help us deliver our private cloud platform to the warfighter, to include this Security Engineer position at Hickam AFB.

Principal Duties

  • Contribute, provide technical recommendations and attend briefings or information sharing forums, with INDOPACOM and MPE leadership, in support of DoD Zero Trust Strategy and new capabilities.
  • Develop/integrate cybersecurity designs for systems and networks with multilevel security requirements or requirements for the processing of multiple classification levels.
  • Document and address organization’s information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Develop a system security context, a preliminary system security CONOPS, and define baseline system security requirements in accordance with applicable cybersecurity requirements.
  • Ensure acquired or developed system(s) and architecture(s) are consistent with the organization’s cybersecurity architecture guidelines.
  • Review, Design, and implement firewall changes on multiple vendor firewall landscape.
  • Define and plan processes for implementing application security initiatives compliant with customer set security requirements and DoD guidelines.
  • Document and communicate all security related configuration and guidelines for the Configuration Manager and ISSO’s
  • Actively involved at all phases of the development lifecycle to promote code reuse which uses inherited preapproved Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls to achieve faster ATO
  • Responsible for confirming security-relevant design changes and raising anomalies to ISSM and ISSOs for early assessment
  • Design integration custom code to generate security-relevant events for the Security Operations Center (SOC), enhancing continuous operational monitoring.
  • Follows best practices in security hardening, vulnerability management, granular attribute-based access, system administration, and configurations.

Qualifications

  • Active in-scope Top Secret clearance.
  • Knowledge of NSA’s Commercial Solution for Classified (CSfC) solution.
  • Thorough understanding of NIST Publications, Risk Management Framework, Executive Order 14028, OMB Mandate M-22-09, and ZTA related CISA and DOD supporting documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent years of related experience
  • An IAT III certification (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH) or higher is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology or related discipline
  • Knowledge of the DoD Zero Trust initiatives and its pillars.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required
